Help with Racal-Decca

Does anyone have any info on a Racal Decca radar. I have been given one to repair (for free and challanged by my friends as to success. I have not one bit of documentation on the unit. It was was built in Korea in the 80s and has a display #65384. If could get a manual, a diagram, or any documentation I would be most appreciative. Does anyone have a clue as to where I could obtain such. Thanks Ron

Since Sperry Marine took over Decca in 1997 I would call them at 434-974-2000 and ask for Tech support. good luck.

It is a long way from you but if you get desperate Chicks Marine in Guernsey used to be Racal Decca agents for small boat radars. If this is what it is then they may still have the relevent manuals. I can furnish you with their snail mail address or if you can give a bit more information on what the model or type of set it is I will make enquiries.

Here is an update. Thanks to your number I was able to get a guy at Sperry who worked on the RP-170 years ago, which he explained is what I have. He didn't remember too much detail and does not have any written material. He did remember enough to direct me to the various boxes in the system and pointed out that the motor control at the outside antenna is the the master and controls the panel unit motor. Armed with that info, I was able to localize the problem and although I haywired around part of the motor control, I believe I made it sweep on the bench. Now all I have to do is repair that darn motor control which has one of those problems that is hard to find without a diagram. Thanks to your Telephone number I now have a model number of the radar and an almost working system. I can't wait to finish and now I know the model number may even find someone with a manual. hi,i do have a complete system on my own,includind the owner's manual.rd 170/270/370 bright track.but,always a but? i'm missing the interconnection cable bet--the scanner n the control unit,desperate on my own to find that cable?
