Hi,i placed this question in another section but i think it should of gone in here..so here goes!it is probably something simple BUT can i find what it does..NO.<br />I have a force 50hp(1989) and the remote has US MARINE stamped on it,i've sussed out that the rocker switch on throttle/gear lever must be for either trim or engine lift(i have neither as mine are manual adjustment),below the key/ignition and next to the cut-out switch is a knob which rotates but tightens in either direction after afew turns,i am able to take it off and i can see that inside it sits over a bolt head but what does it do and what is it adjusting, i have a seloc manual but no ref to this is mentioned, sorry if i am sounding thick but i have just upgraded myself from owning a 12ft clinker being pushed by an old yam 8hp on tiller to an 15ft chrysler striper with a 50hp so some help is needed please.

Re: help with remote control box

That's probably a friction knob. It adjusts how much friction is on the lever to keep in in place so you can let go of it and it will stay at the same position.
