I rebuilt the power head about 10 months ago. It has been working great, however I was running on a plane a few weeks ago and lost all power. It would only idle and that's it. I took the cover off and saw that fuel was leaking and coming from between the two halves of the crankcase.

I have everthing torn down and ready to go back together, but I want to make sure I get it back together and that this doesn't happen again. I'm using the Gel Seal (red tube), are there any tricks or anything that I may have missed the first time?

It appears that the two halves mate very well with one another, but something cuased the problem...

Thanks in advance for your help.

BTW - I checked compression and I have 120 on both.

Your loss of power wasn't due to the leaking c/c halves. You have other probs. Spark, carb probs, fuel system probs ???

I'm just going by what the boat mechanic told me.

I checked the fuel tank and lines, all are fine. I replaced the spark plugs, but didn't check for spark.

I never messed with the carb, looking at it is enough for me. But I'll open up the manual and take a peak. It just seems like there's so much going on with it that I could really screw it up.

So I'll put the halves back together now. Then where do I begin?

Thanks again for all your help!

Get it back together and then post back with how it's running. We're here to help.

Ok. Will do. I'll post back as soon as I get it together and water test it.
