Maybe you can call it home made and they won't have a problem getting you papers? They do that here with trailers and they don't even look at them before they register them.

Is there a reason you want to title the boat? Here in Indiana all boats do not have to be titled, but can be. The criteria is if the boat cost more than $5,000 new it must be titled or if it has been titled it must remain titled. Otherwise you can go to your local license branch and they should be able to tell you what you need to get it registered.

Re: help with title problems

Every state is different but it sounds like they all are a pain in the butt these days. Used to be, it didn't matter on small boats but now it's the tax man, the insurance man, and the registration man who insist it all has to be done like for a 50' Hatteras. Some agencies want bills of sale with detail even if you have a signed-over title. Some insurance companies insist on speed ratings (gave me fits on an 1964 whaler).
Many people find the only work-around is to declare it home-made--even the engines--which requires you to submit false information to government entities (compelled perjury).
Takes the fun out of it.

Either go to or call your local BMV, they will tell you what you need to do. It may not be that complicated.

You will have to contact the Oklahoma Tax Commission. They have jurisdiction and issue all licenses, titles, etc., for watercraft and trailers.
