Help with year and manual location for my 9.8 Mercury

I checked the FAQ links above and Googled it with no success. My serial number is A176805 and there are some pics below. Thanks guys. The first think I want to check is if it runs on straight gas or an oil mix.

Another question: am I better off buying the original manual above or the Seloc repair manual (or one like it) shown here: http://www.iboats.com/Mercury-Outbo...3142393--session_id.003175210--view_id.214926

The only ones i have are Mercury, second best in my opinion would be Clymer and Seloc is not on the list, though some on this forum swear by them.
