Help

I have a 1988 sunbird it has a OMC motor with model number 302AMRGDF i just now was able to get the motor to start. The riser is missing and im wondering if it will hurt it to run with out just to test the motor. Not run it in the wat just hooking the ear muffs up to the outdrive ??? any help is needed. also im trying do find gauges and a wire diagram frome the harnest to the gauges
