Long time reader and first time poster:( Ok Mariner 95 2 stroke 20hp,tiller,has run great for as long as i had her, always started first pull never poured smoke the best money ive ever spent on my first used motor. Sooo today started with hose hookup like i do every week and flush the saltwater every trip and started cold,ran for a minute pushed the primer button in turned the idler/primer knob down(engine runs fast when first start) and the chugs out. Has fuel to carb,checked the choke plunger its good any suggestion guys and gals? Thank you for your time.:confused:

Rebuild and CLEAN the heck out of the carb....costs about $35 for parts and carb cleaner. Put it back together, dump a can of seafoam in the tank with fresh gas/oil, and install a fuel/water seperator (about $40 together). Go boating! You will have a clean fresh carb which most likely gum and grime are causing the intitial problem, the separator will cure most of the crap that causes the gum and grime in the future, and the seafoam will free up stuck, sticky parts in the motor, and get rid of the carbon build up. Takes about 4-5hours to do it all and will make the thing run like a new one.
