I have a 96 evinrude 150HP oceanpro that is leaking fuel out of an orifice on the front of the main body of the carburetor/throttle body assembly. The attachment shows an arrow pointing to the orifice. It appears to be a brass orifice with nothing attached to it. Each of the 6 bodies has one in the same location. Only the bottom starboard side is leaking fuel while the engine is running. It pours out of it like there should be a hose attached to it or something. Obviously it shouldn't given that none of the others are doing this. Any thoughts on what is happening here and where I should start? Thanks in advance.

Re: Help

It is hard to see anything in that pic. Maybe you can crop out some of the extra stuff to make it a little more clear.

Re: Help

Does the engine run normal? Could be the fuel rail leaking at the carb. With the engine off, pump the primer bulb and see if you can isolate the leak.

Re: Help

With a better pic we could see more but the carb could be flooding over or you have a gasket out of place in back of the carb.

Re: Help

I'll try to find a better pic and also try priming it in the morning. Thanks for the input so far.

Just took a look at mine...
There is no missing hose, thats exactly how it should look, mis-placed gasket is the likely cause.

Re: Help

I wanted to let everyone what I found. I took off the suspect carburetor and found the float was stuck. I took the bowl off, cleaned it up and reassembled. The problem appears to be solved, no fuel leaking now. Thanks for the help.

Re: Help

Ahh so its the bowl vent.
Makes sense, as the bowl fills with fuel it displaces air, thats gotta go someplace without affecting air/fuel mix.
