Helpful Info for Posting Multiple Pics from Photobucket

If you want to post more than one pic to iBoats, this will make it a bit easier for you.

In your PB library hover over the first pic you want to post to iBoats. A window will open and there will be a check box just below the small icon of your pic. Click the check box. Now hover over the next pic you want to post and click it's check box. REMEMBER!!! iBoats only allows 6 pics per post. Once all your pics have been selected, scroll to the bottom of the library page and you will see "Choose Action" with a down arrow. Click on it. The last selection in the drop down is "Generate link codes for selected." Click it.

This window will open. Click the Full size window Under IMG for Bulletin Boards and Forums and it will flash "Copied". Now return to iBoats and Paste the codes into the post.

That's it. This is under the ORIGINAL version of PB. Not sure if this is available in the so call New Improved version.

I'm running the new version of pb. Here's a tip for you buddy, stick with the old version. I keep thinking I'll catch on to this new version. Some of the features are just kind of a pain now.

Yeah, I opted out of the new (beta) version. Liked the old one better.

Quick additional comment: I recently learned that if you use photobucket pro. (fairly cheap) you can do an FTP file transfer of your pics both to and from hard-drive to photobucket. Why would you need this? If you have uploaded pics to photobucket from a device that is not your primary computer, this is the only way to bring them out of the cloud back down to your HD (other than sharing them via email and downloading the attachment, which takes forever). Also, if you have a lot of pics you want to upload to photobucket, its a lot easier to just click and drag via FTP transfer than using the upload feature on the site.

I used FileZilla for the file transfer and was happy with it.

Uhmm I think you can download an entire Album via Options. It puts them all in a zip file and then puts it on your PC.

We'll I'll be darned... You are right...

The help menu on downloading images used to say this:

Upload/Download With FTP (Pro Accounts Only) : Photobucket Support

Now, it makes no mention of this (or pro accounts) and says just to download away....

Does this work on the new version? The new version stinks and it it hard to get the link codes easily.

I did the same thing...I let them know via feedback I liked the old way of being able to select multiple images at once...also told them about the having to click upload after picking files for upload...didn't have to do that before...they answered my feedback and even fixed the upload part...maybe they will fix the multiple pics one day soon?

Yep, I just looked again. The picture you posted looks like the old version, and mine does not look like that anymore. you have to go into each picture manually and get the link code. Major PITA!

Edit!!! I just found a way to switch back to the old photo bucket!! YAYYYYYY!!!!

I went back to the old PB after the first try on the new one . When it comes to this computer stuff I gotta keep it as simple as possible . :facepalm::joyous:

Thanks for that tip, I never noticed it.

I'd been away from Photobucket for a while and they gave me the new version. I used it a couple times then discovered that I could switch back to the old version, which I did. I too found the new version user-unfriendly for what I use the site most for, linking to forums.
