Helpful Info on Building Seats

We have a 20' Aluminum Boat and we are having our friend bend some aluminum for our bench seat/leaning post. Are there any books, sites with helpful info or tips on building flip/flops for the sides of the boat. Also, looking to pad the side rails along the boat as well.
