There was a recent article in Motor Trend describing a shootout of cars that could achieve 200mph the fastest. The winner was not the $1.5 million Bugatti Veyron. It was a Hennessey Viper packing a mind boggling 1100hp.
Can you imagine driving a street legal vehicle from 0 to 200mph in 20.3 seconds? And in that 20.3 seconds, covering only 3488 feet? Topped out, it will hit over 250 mph.
According to the article, it never truly hooked up until 4th gear and had a tendency to want to "get sideways". Also, momentary vision loss was reported during launch when G-forces were strongest.
