Hello All!!
Ok I have the Mercury 70HP outboard 1989
1. When I follow my wires from battery they take me to what looks like the solenoide, behind the plastic black cover on same side as oil reserve tank. Why does the motor have 2 more just like it on same side? Last week my starter motor was turning constant. Undid leads hit the solenoide and re hooked battery - problem went away, should I just buy a solenide and put it on, or as some say carry a mallet?
2. I have a 19 pitch prop boat does not plane, received a 17 prop, this should work, right? The problem we have is the motor really bites in idle, it sound like it wants to die. We have to do about 3 to 4 mph for it to smooth out. Any clues?
