I bought this boat in 2001 for $1200. 85hp Johnson, trolling, fishfinder, boat & trailer. As my cousin was a cedar strip canoe builder, I figured I had the resources to fix any boat problems and made the purchase based on the motor. All in all a good decision.
Ripped the floor out, pulled the foam, sistered in new cedar stringers, System Three epoxied inside, fillet stringers +2" & 4" taped them. Poured new foam, sealed and glassed a new floor and ran it for years.
Boat sat the last 3 years and upon recent inspection, I will be doing that project again, minus the stringers. Somehow managed either not to seal the hull properly or the deck, I had a very low budget and the first project was back in my drinking days so ....
Currently, the outside below the cap is sanded, minus were it sits on the trailer. The old floor is gone, this time to within an inch of the boat shell except for about a foot closest to the transom, The stringers are pretty good minus some wood loss at their top in places due to some minimal rot.
Plans are to coat and glass the inside of the hull - System Three general purpose resin, 6oz cloth. Still trying to decide on a plywood for the floor, leaning towards Araucoply. It will be well sealed and glassed this time, I don't want to do this project for another 20 years if ever, at least not on this boat.
Still not to a decision on how to pour the foam. The floor will be in three pieces for the installation. It is my understanding you get a better cube out if it is allowed to expand unrestricted. If so it will require trimming and open up the cells where trimmed. Considering sealing the trimmed foam with Bondo polyester resin since its cheap, not sure if it will eat the foam though.
Outside will get several coats of the System Three for barrier protection, primed and painted. Ill do the topside next year.... maybe.
Ill post pics soon. Any help greatly welcomed.
