Hi all I am having one heck of an annoying problem that I am assuming cannot be serious. Sometimes when I try to get up on plane all of a sudden it feels like I am hitting bottom, like the engine is hesitating for some reason. I thought at one point maybe it is because I didn't have enough gas in my tank so I put in $180 worth and it still did it that day. Also when I do plane out I will be cruising along and all of a sudden it starts doing the same thing and I can't maintain my speed and have to slow down. I noticed if I am having either of these problems, if I stop the boat, turn it off, & pump the gas bulb as much as possible that it resolves the issue but only for a few minutes. So in other words after doing so I can get on plane and I'll be cruising and 3 minutes later its hesitating. Not a big problem for the days we are just cruising to the island since it is no wake the entire way there, however I bought this boat so I can go out 20+ miles diving/fishing and obviously that would be a long drive in if I can't get on plane. Any suggestions??

So you know I use ethanol free gasoline, premixed 100:1 with Amsoil Saber oil. I have put in a new fuel line as well as new fuel filter (6 months ago) as well as the bulb is only 6 months old.

THANKS!!!!

Man thats a toughie but I'll take a stab at it.

Gas/Oil Looks good, that oil seems to be quite the stuff, on a side note

I am leaning towards fuel delivery as it only happens when its under a hard load. Perhaps your fuel pump is going out? They are pretty spendy though, I wouldn't go for that right away.

Check all your fuel hoses from the tank up. Check for cracks, brittle, etc. A little air getting sucked on the tank side of the pump can really make a dent, especially in a larger motor. If they are hard, replace them now. You'll thank yourself later.

You don't mention it but has the ignition had a recent tune up? New plugs for sure, once again not familiar with the later motors but plug wires if applicable. As I said without actually being there its hard to tell whether its ignition or not, plugs are cheap and if they haven't been done recently should probably be done.

Good luck seems like a simple but annoying problem, hope ya git r going :)
