What does AYUH mean??? I see it in everything you write and have assumed it is an acronym for something but I can't for the life of me figure out what.

So, what's the deal with this?

I get it - I was thinking it was an internet acronym and usually sooner or later I figure them out seeing them enough, but this one wasn't coming to me.

Thanks.

Hey Bondo, I just wanted to say how much I like that house of yours in the Ark post. I mean that bad boy is Right On the Water.. do you not have problems with changing water levels? come to think of it you did mention wanting to jack up the house. what will you do? put it on pilings? anyway talk at ya later. I'm gonna drag out a map and see where the chaumont river is.. it sure looks beautious...

Re: Hey Bondo!

Ayuh,...... I'm Sure it floods,..... Regularly,.... The 2nd house I bought, the brown 1 next door, is built as a carbon copy, only 2' narrower, 5' shorter,.... And 18" higher......
That 18" is the difference between Flooding every few years,+ Flooding every 10 or 20 Years.......

The house that Mom'sa Paycheck is tied to is going up about 14',..... No More Flooding......
It'll be an I-beam foundation,+ poured floors on it..... I picked up a couple loads of 16" I-beams last year...... Just gotta build the system for getting them "In Place"..........

So Far,... Since a year ago June,..... I've seen the Water Level from the "Normal" level in the Ark thread,.... To the 18" Lower that it is Now,..... To 12" UP the Sliding Glass Doors last March when a Surge went thru 1 night.......

Stop by anytime you happen thruogh the neighborhood...........

Boy, that sounds like some major construction. your gonna need some pretty heavy duty equipment to handle raising a house up 14 feet and then slipping some I beams in under it.. I would imagine the weight of the beams is enormous..extra good luck with that project. by the way thanks for the invitation.. don't know if I'll ever get up that far north but I did make it to canandaguia many years ago one summer. I was about 18 and spent the whole summer on that lake. fell in love with a local gal, then vietnam came along. oh well, it's just a memory now... good luck...
