Hey everyone. My name is Steven and from Fredericksburg, VA. This is an awesome site; I lurked for a day and had to join. I have a 2005 185 Bayliner that I just picked up dirt cheap and a 1987 185 Mach 1 that is in the process of getting a new motor. Well ill post some pic of the fam out boating and thanks for an awesome site and the wealth of knowledge.

Re: Hey everyone

Welcome aboard!! Just look at aspeck's list of tools and you'll be OK with his Bilgeliner comment . . . Jeez, some people's kids . . . err . . . dads.

Yeah, you've found a great bunch here. Mostly steer clear of Bondo with the Bayliner. The problem is he knows a lot . . . Ive got it, here's what you do. Just tell him it's a Maxum and don't post any pics. He won't know . . . :p  :)

Re: Hey everyone

Hey thanks for the welcome. My son trace gave me the name the other week out on the boat as he was driving. It was really funny he did the whole ?Arrrrgh I?m pirate trace? and then said ?Arrrrgh pirate daddy?. The wife and I crack up still.

The bayliner was not my first choice of boat to buy but my mother-in-law just went through the Big D last year and could not make the rest of the payments and was behind. I talked to bank and was able to buy it out right for $3800. So I figured I would use it this season or next and sell it and get a bigger and nicer boat. The other boat I have is an older boat that needs some wrenching on and I?m in the process of rebuilding a 350 to put in it.

Re: Hey everyone

Most of the Bayliner stuff is leftover from ribbing we've done with each other . . . You just ran into the buzz saw. The truth is I started a thread a while back titled "I want a Bayliner" after an experience I had testing a few of them. They are a great value and a great way to get on the water with a safe and quality product.

Since it is an I/O you should spend some time up in the I/O forum ^^^^^^. Lots to know and there are some very unique maintenance requirements for them.

Great little Pirate larvae you got there :D

Re: Hey everyone

Welcome to the fold, PD! I really like the pic of your son with the fish. I'm an old dog, but I have a 3-1/2 year old son. I'm teaching him to fish now and he loves it!

BTW, I live very close to an area outside of New Orleans where Lafitte the Pirate hid from the "authorities." If you ever find yourself in my neck of the woods, I'd be glad to take you and the Jr. Pirates for a ride!

Arggggggggggh, little mateys!
