heres a pic of my 1976 gypsy star without the 90 evinrude on it thats there now.would like to redo the interior and repower to 125 to 150 hp range max.ive no doubt it could safely handle 150 even though its rated for 135.proably a 140 evinrude or johnson would be perfect.

Good looking boat, but it's not wise to power up more than what the Coast Guard sticker says.

problem is trying to find a 135 ,much easier to find a 140 expecially if i want to stay with omc.it dosnt run that bad with the 90 though .i get about 35 mph out of it but as soon as you load her up she starts to suck.id proably settle for a 115 to 125 post 1990 motor as im assuming mine was rated at the crank and not the prop being a 1982.heres another angle.
