Got this POS Hustler 23" alum sitting on the shelf. Boy-son is running a 21" Turbo II on a Pro craft 18' with a Merc 150.
If you haven't seen a Pro, they are deep v front smoothing back to a padded arse with lifting strakes to the side (with hull steps) and the typical BB setback step in the bottom B4 the transom...no jackplate.
Ran day B4 yesterday at 6 grand even and 55 mph after picking up 2 mph courtesy of decarb kicking in. Just utterly amazing how that stuff works.
Ran the numbers and it said we were at 8% slip (gearbox is 2:1). Pretty tight I'd say, but believeable. Most of the spray was at the gunwale/transom corners with a slight amount forward of that. Didn't have much wetted hull. Trimmed out till mph fell off then took the measurement.
Ran the numbers on this 23" Hustler and if it runs hard like it did on my 90 then he may only pick up 1 mph or loose like I did.
Got any comments you feel like talking about? Thought I'd stick it on just for the heck of it.
And.............no clutch dog rattle on the 6 cyl. 8)
Thanks,
Mark
