What all livestock do you have? I've seen you mention you have cows and goats correct? I raise horses and am getting into goats.

Re: Heycods

We run about 50 hd of mother cows. and About 50 full blood boer goats. We stoped regristraing(sp) the goats this year and cut down from about 125 nannys. We only have 20 mature nannys and thier offspring now. We are starting at it from the meat goat standpoint now. Your in east tx aint you. If you are watch out for worm probs in them goats if it ever gets wet again. We also have a jag of free range chickens. What the varmits let us raise.

Eh, not really east Tx, kinda on the line. I'm 10 miles west of I-45. My horses are what I have to consider grade right now. My stud is AQHA, I have one mare thats AQHA, and one thats Arabian reg. The other three are quarters without papers. I have a full blood boer buck that is a 3 legged pet. He's not for breeding but is still a fine looking animal. He was born without the leg due to a wormer. I have 1 reg doe that is like 78%, and then 2 show goats for my daughter. Whenever we move to the "farm" (36 acres half wooded/half pasture)the wife wants a longhorn cow for the looks. She's also said that she'll have her ducks, chickens, and guinies too. I'll probably throw in some rabbits while were at it. Damn Green Acres :( :) I might have to pick your brain a little in the future.

Re: Heycods

All you need is a water tower and three lovely daughters. If the half pasture is brushy you will need more goats. I got into the goats because of all the scrub oak on the 20 ac where my house sets. they have sure made a difference. if the brush is thick I think 1 goat per ac. of brush in 3 years it will be clean. If the 3 legged billy is 3 legged because of using white wormer during pregnancy , its not genetic, use him for a breeding buck on the doe hell figure out a way. ;)You gotta have a few peafowl too, I love to hear them when it rains(if it ever does). wife wont let me have them says thier to noisy. Oh well Ive had llamas, donkeys, turkeys and had a pet coon once, that little bugger was one of the best pets Ive ever had.

Beleive me he tries HARD. He can't mount correctly so he just gets her side real good. She gets frusterated because he can't. Its really kinda funny to watch. I reckon this means I really am sick in the head.

Yea but aint they presistant(sp) were all sick. I know of a deal where a billy got in a pen of nannys and stuck 90 head in one night. He wasnt suposed to be in that pen (young nannys) he was wearing a marker ball (blue chalk) is how they found out. I guess they should have named him Osoma Ben Goat he found his 90 virgins. ;)
