Well I hope to be starting the front end repairs this weekend. But I would like to know the best way to take off the Bumper strip around the boat so I can get to the area I need to repair. How are these generally attached?
and is it a pain in the @$$ to remove. I dont plan on keeping the original strip I actually want to replace it with a solid black strip once the repairs are made if they make such a thing.

Before adding a new deck to my boat should I reseal the inside of the hull before laying down the stringers?

I am making a 74 chrysler Tri Hull into a full on Camo duck boat All shiny brite work will be powder coated or removed. This boat will have everything redone. I have other questions still needing to be answered in my other forum posts please take a look at them.

If anyone has seen a tri hull duckboat conversion here please post a link.

thank you !!

I recently removed them from a Crestliner I was disposing of. They are pressed on by a machine that applies pressure to the top and bottom. They will be a pain to remove. You have to open them up, which may result in some fibreglas damage without the proper tools.

Some are easier than others. If I were you, I would be VERY careful removing it because new ones are $$$$$. You may find you'd rather keep it than replace it. The black strip is just tucked into the aluminum channel. You can get it started with a screwdriver. The channel will probably be riveted or screwed. Again I emphasize being careful with it so at least you have the option to reuse it.
