Hello everyone!!
I am picking up a used '98 220CS w/ 5.7L/ Alpha 1 boat next weekend, and I am jacked ! Never been into boating until a good friend took me and my family out on the ocean a few weeks ago. I am hooked! My 220 will need some cosmetic repairs and some good 'ol elbow grease, but more importantly, mechanically the boat is in excellent condition, with about 300 hrs on it, hull is original and in excellent condition. The demise opf this boat was simply sitting out in the sun unused. The boat has been painstakingly looked at by my long time experienced friend, and his opinions I am getting this boat for VERY short money. I have wrenched on virtually everything with wheels over the past 25 years, but boats are new to me. Glad I have a good experienced friend who has been helping guide me with my used boat choice because I have quickly learned there is good used boats, and CLAPPED OUT used boats that will surely be the "can of worms" scenario if you don't know what to look for. Stay tuned as I will post plenty of before and after pics as we go through the winter. I plan on an extensive detailing, and re- upholstery of the seats, and adding some hull graphics as well. My boating buddy not only hauls and winterizes large boats for a living, he is a master auto body technition as well. So I got it made as far as someone who will patiently show me how to restore a boat...
