Hi-Vis vs Super Hi Vis

When I lived in Iowa the marine store there recommended that I user the Johnson/Envinrude sterndrive Super Hi-Vis gear lube (yellow cap I believe). The manual calls for Hi-Vis lube. Now here in Missouri the local marine store doesn't even carry the Super Hi-Vis, only the Hi-Vis (white cap). Which should I be using? Any advantage of the Super Hi-Vis?

Ultra HPF is synthetic I believe. regular Hi Vis is not.
They are mixable and compatible.
Never heard of super though.

Ulta Hi-Vis is what I think I was thinking of. Does anyone have a strong arguement for or against the Ultra? Thanks!

Last fall I ended up getting a jug of each (pair of 460's, hold a jug each) as my dealer only had one Hi-Vis left. I'm sure the HPF is better but I don't expect to see any changes my drives have run fine on the Hi-Vis for 16 years now and the HPF costs more!

I wouldn't worry about it, my mechanic uses the Merc High Performance gear lube in my Cobra and it does just fine with it, he claims he sees less wear with this stuff.

Last year I bought a 1981 Skiff Craft with a OMC 800 stringer.I went my local marine dealer (a one man shop) which he truly believes in customer service and he told me to use nothing but the Ultra HPF synthetic in everything including the OD lift.
When I changed it last fall it was spotlessly clear
blue and no water got in the OD lift also no metal on the drain magnet. I believe it's worth the money.
Beef :D

I'm using CRC high vis lube in my Cobra. It is yellow in color.I wondered why the old lube was green.Could it have been Merc lube? Who makes the ultra hpf synthetic?

The Ultra HPF is Synthetic and per the old OMC factory reps you will have less wear, less friction and it can take up to 20 percent water with no damage. It does cost almost double.
