Hi guys,<br /><br />After the conversation the other day about upping the charge voltage, I wrote to many a supplier asking for info on getting it rewound or replaced by a high output version...<br /><br />Here is one such response..<br /><br />#################################<br />Frank,<br />OMC manufactured a high output stator for some model engines around your<br />year.<br />P/N:580725<br />CDI #: 173-0725<br /><br />This is a 15 Amp winding, however, it does NOT have the beveled edge found<br />on the the inside of your 580744 stator.<br />I am not sure if this will create a mounting situation /clearance problem<br />for you.<br /><br />I can wind a custom stator to give you 11-13 Amps on the original frame if<br />needed.<br /><br />Please advise.<br /><br />TJ<br />########################<br /><br />Does anyone know what he means by the bevel edge and will it cause a problem not having it???<br /><br />As always, your thoughts are highly appreciated.<br /><br />regards<br /><br />Franki
