High pressure fuel filter

Tried the search but could not find any real answers.

Manual says the high pressure fuel filter can only be changed by a qualified dealer. Low pressure filter is ok to replace by owner.

Has anyone changed it before? I'm guessing the pressure can be released via Schrader valve and replaced as normal.

Also, is the maintenance schedule the same for both H/L?

Thanks

I have no idea about your particular engine, but most all vehicles these days have high pressure fuel systems with fuel filters as well. And while they do hold a pressure for a long time, eventually they bleed off. So I would think that your marine engine does the same. So I would not worry about changing the fuel filter because of pressure. You can always wrap a rag around the connection as you release the connection. And if there is any pressure, it will quickly bleed off into the rag. Then remove the filter and replace with a new one. Doesn't sound too difficult to me. But that is just my opinion.
