High RPM s boat putts

I have a 4.3 OMC 6 cyl.it has the RPMs but hardly moves could this be my prop?

Hey Domidoo,<br />sounds like a drive problem. Try this - put the motor in gear (not running) and see if you can turn the prop. There should be a great deal of resistance. If not then the problem is in the drive gear somewhere. Otherwise yes you must have the wrong prop, however it would have to be way out to be giving you this problem. What specs is the prop you have?<br />Ross

Could be a spun hub in the prop, or the engine coupler, too.
