I have 1987 140 hp model j140tlcua. I need info on the high speed jets behind the bowl drain screws on the carbs. DO these jets turned in until tight ,or do they get turned intil tight and then backed out to a certain adjustment. When I took carbs apart to rebuild two were totaly out other two were not quite tight about two and a half turns out from bottom out. Carb numbers are 431-883 Any info would be great thank you all ahead of time.

Run them down and tighten, no adjustment.

Thanks guys. Installed the carbs. Just snugged down high speed jets. I did not apply much force, just snugged them. Hope that is good enough. Engine is running fine now. Between all the problems this year being new VRO pump, powerpack, and carbs. rebuilt. Hope this engine runs good for quite awhile.
