18.5ft bow rider
Volvo Penta 3.0l GL with SX Drive ~ 135 hp
1.97 Gear Ratio
14.3x21" Prop
4600 WOT (when all the planets are aligned can hit 4800)
42 MPH GPS
Slippage ~ just under 10% from a calculator I found online
Holeshot ~ just a touch over 4 seconds

I came across Hill Marine props http://www.hillmarine.com/index.html

They have a line of 4 blade SS props that seemed reasonably priced when compared to QuickSilver, Solas, and the others. I remember Ron Hill from back in the day for powerboat racing but couldn't find much on his son's company out on the web.

I was thinking about getting the 14.25x21" 4 blade and use my OEM aluminum prop as a spare.

So with that said, has anyone owned a Hill Marine Prop or dealt with this company?

Is there any benefit of going to a 4 blade vs 3 whether SS or aluminum?

Re: Hill Marine Propellers

I've dealt with Ron and Chad. Stick with Ron. I like their props and I like Ron, but Chad is pretty flakey. On eBay that's Ron. You shoulkd probably go down in pitch though if you are replacing an Aluminum 3 blade . . . Under 10% is pretty awesome. Was the 42 MPH at 4600 or 4800?

Re: Hill Marine Propellers

That's 42 mph at 4600 rpm with the outdrive trimmed for max speed and rpm and can hit that consistently. Thanks for the heads up about Ron and Chad.
