HIN Help Please

Can someone help me identify this HIN? I have tried the letter/number combinations every way I can think of and can't seem to get anything to come up on any HIN database for some reason.

I bought the boat from a guy on CL for $500 motor and trailer included. I think I did okay with the buy but would like to find some more info on the boat itself.

What does it say on the title or registration sticker? Not sure about whatever state sticker that is on the boat, but in MN your HIN gets printed on the reg sticker

It was bought from a guy in NC but the sticker on the side of the boat is pretty rough and not much is readable on it anymore. He didn't have a title for the boat but had one for the trailer. I got a notarized "seller's statement of lost vessel title" and a notarized "bill of sale for a vessel" from him when I purchased it. It does have a Vessel Registration Number on the Bill of Sale which shows it as NC-7546-BG

Well, then I would take a rubbing of the HIN tag and make your best guess from that. 3117I5 would be my guess since those are readable. The stuff after that looks really weird since it is just stamped at odd angles/spacing

A standard HIN has 12 characters so that tag isn't right. The last two numerals are the model year.

BTW $500? Really?? From the looks of it, you stole that puppy!

A heavily photo shopped image makes it look like MAKG3117151836.
Better lighting would bring it out.

BTW $500 is a great deal!!

Mine is 10 digits , it is a Coast Guard Documented vessel not state registered.
