I just got myself a 1996 Regal Leisurecat 26.
I have not been able to find much information on this pretty cool (at least I think it is) barge.
As far as I can tell they were made from 1993 to 1996. I the guy I have doing the transom repair it needs had worked for Regal, and told me that Regal had built these boats under contract for another company, which explains why there is almost nothing about it on Regal's web site. (I found a freshwater plumbing diagram, nothing else)
I found a database somewhere that gives decode info on the HIN format.
My HIN shows RGM ( the manfacturer, Regal) then LC209.
I am assuming LC is for Leisurecat, and the 209 is a serial number.
What I am wondering is, would a manufacturer restart the serial numbers at the beginning of a new model year, or would the numbers run continously for the run of a particular model.
The build date code for my hull is my birthday in 1996. (I'll take that as a good luck thing)
If the numbers run continously for the run of the model, 209 doesn't seem like a lot of boats for a 3 year run.
Anybody out there got one of these, or any info on them?
