Or, (posted for the umpteenth time lately and clearly defined in the FREE Mercruiser Factory Service Manuals)

Use heat (not a hairdryer, a propane torch) to release the Loctite that is used on the pins and they back right out.

Or keep breaking tools and skinning your knuckles.....

I asked this question before i knew about the free manuals and found the other posting about. When stuff is under ADULTS ONLY why would anyone think thats what you are going to find there. Also i dont see anything here about using a hair dryer anywhere the was about the tool and that was it.At first thought you could not heat that area or you might melt something internally i saw that you can did it and they came off.And i was smart enough to use a torch and not a hair dryer.

Ayuh,... The Hairdryer thing is from another recent thread....

It takes 300?- 400? to soften the lock-tite...

The Adults Only is just a play on Human Nature....:D

The first one i did i heated about five minutes and came right out with breaker and hex head. Now the other was a different story took about twice as much heating to get it out.Now that is done im going back to out boards;)

I made the tool from a U-joint strap bolt from an International tractor(truck). Welded a castle nut to the end to grab it with a 3/4" socket. Need one? Got plenty! :D
