Now that it is has been a year since this happened, this has given my family much entertainment at get-togethers. My cousin had a 16 foot starcraft fiberglass fish and ski. He told everyone that he had an "accident" with it and hit something and totalled the boat. I went and looked at it and it had a hole on one side of the boat about 1 foot diameter not quite all of the way through but smashed in, and an identical hole on the other side of the boat all the way through the hull. It seemed odd that these two holes were about even with the drivers seat for hitting something. I started helping him remove electronics from the boat in his garage and the alcohol started flowing a bit. I keep asking him how this happened and then i got the truth.
I guess he is cruising down the river at about 45 Mph and he has one of those electric anchors on the bow of his boat. The switch is at the helm for it. He sees that it is bouncing a little in the holder and goes to tighten it up and hits the switch the wrong way and the anchor dissapears from sight dropping like a rock. He said the next thing he heard was the sound of it smashing into the drivers side of the boat, bounching off, hitting the water, and bouncing back up over his and his fishing partners head and slamming all the way through the passengers side of the boat. I laughed so hard when he told me the real story. Worst part is, I helped him set up his new boat and he still put that stupid electric anchor on the bow with the switch at the helm....can't wait for the fishing season this year :)

Steve

I'll bet he looked like a cowboy riding a bronco with that anchor whipping back and forth. :D A couple of drinks will work wonders in more ways than one :p
