I have a 2359 hardtop with a gasoline capacity of only 87 gallons....I was told to check into converting my 27 gallon freshwater tank into a fuel reserve. Has anyone ever heard of this being done??? I hope so since I run 80-100 miles out in the gulf somtimes & now I have to carry extra fuel cans that take up needed space..

i was curious if any one knew about this...i have a 1802 with a 27 gallon live bait tank....other then findind a tank that fits in side it i don't know if its possible...i would not fill that with gas as it is...not to mention how u'd run the hose to the engine...good luck..i've seen aux. tanks that are basically big bags u fill with fuel...they might even sell them here.

Re: holding tank conversion

I was hoping to be able to convert without the trouble of finding a special size fuel bladder, the freshwater tank has a pump for creating pressure to the sink / faucet but I never use it, I believe I could run a fuel line (with valve) to the gas cap & empty straight into the fuel tank when needed.....what I am not sure about is there a need for any modifications to the freshwater tank or fittings using gasoline in lieu of water

huh...to me that sounds a bit scary...i would be aftraid that the gas would destroy the lines/fresh water tank...and pressureizing gas is not a good idea either...try posting this in another section...like non-repair question..good luck again
