Hole in the ski locker/storage

After many, many hours of cleaning the boat for winter storage I found an unpleasant little hole in my ski locker. It looks to go all the way down through the fiberglass. Should I just patch this up or am I in real trouble here with water intrusion? That area is usually always wet so water would definitely have gotten in there.

I am quite worried now and would appreciate any insight.

TIA!!!

Can you tell us the make and model of the boat in question. It looks like a screw or something with a round type shape made the hole. If it is a used boat maybe the previous owner had something secured there? How deep is the hole? Can you post a bigger photo so we can see where the hole is positioned in the ski locker.

Re: Hole in the ski locker/storage

Thank you for the reply. The boat is a 2009 Starcraft Fish and Ski. I bought it new so I'm sure we made the hole somewhere along the way. The hole is right in the flat bottom portion of the ski locker. The locker has a drain back to the bilge in the back but my concern is that it does hold some water so some would have gone down in the hole. I do not know the construction well enough to know if I have to worry about wood being down there and being water logged or if that water would just find its way out no big deal. That's my biggest concern. Thanks again.

IF there's a balsa core, whatever little bit of water might have gotten to it through that hole isn't going anywhere. Chances are that not much got to it because, since the ski locker drains to the bilge I doubt that water sat over that hole for very long at a time. I'd check to make sure it doesn't go all the way through the hull. Then I'd gob some 3M 5200 into and over the hole and put an appropriately sized stainless screw in to permanently seal it.
