I have a 74 Aristocraft with Mercruiser 165hp I6. Been doing lots of work this off season including gimble bearing, bellows, impeller, etc. I noticed that there are 4 small holes in my cat plate, must have been a Stingray or Whale tale mounted in the past. As I am not looking for speed in this classic I do not expect to go that route myself. Should I fill these holes with something or just let them be. And if I did fill what would I use? Thanks.

Re: Holes in plate

You can let them be if you like, or fill them. If you have access to a TIG, fill them with weld. If not and you still want to fill them, use JB weld or fibreglass, or epoxy, whatever you like.... :D
