Holes

i have a 71 johnson 60hp with the hydro electric shift and when i put the muffs on it the other day i noticed some small holes maybe 1/8" or 3/16" above the water intake and just under the anti cavitation plate in the front are theses normal when i turned the water on i noticed water coming from them and when i shut off the water it continued to drain from there is this normal and supposed to be there or do i need to seal them up. i have a couple more questions but ill post new threads for them since they are about something different. thanks for everyones help with my many many questions i would be lost if not for you guys

Don't know exactly what holes you are talking about, but it is a common question. There are water squirt (actually drain) holes on all these motors. Don't be plugging them up because then they can't do their job which is to drain the water out.

ok thanks i thought that may be the case but was unsure so i figured it was best to ask first i was hoping that someone hadnt drilled them or something lol thanks for your help
