Re: Holeshot

Welcome to iboats.

What RPM are you reaching at WOT? The rpm's are VERY important. If you are not reaching the proper WOT then a prop change might be needed.

Re: Holeshot

What kind of 16'?glass,aluminum.bow rider, sport boat? Are tank and battery at the stern?
Do you trim down/in for holeshot?

Re: Holeshot

no rpm gauge. but motor is not over reving.very smooth at WOT. Once on plane seems like it would like to go faster but no more throttle. seems like i'm flipper until bow comes down. It's a 16ft fiberglass sport boat with tank and battery at stern with trim already down during acceleration.
any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Holeshot

Without rpm the speed is pretty meaningless.Something like a Tinytach is reasonable and easy to install. With rpm and speed and a performance description, boat weight, deep V or shallow V all the way to the transom. we can tell much better what is needed.Need a better idea of your hole shot.To some dogging would be 30 seconds to plane others it would be 10 seconds.
You'll also need the tach to be sure your prop selection is allowing the motor to rev freely within its rpm range.

Re: Holeshot

Thanks
I will look into installing a tach. not sure on how though. Also some more information on boat. It's a 1986 charger 16'7" with deep v all the way back to transom, approximate weight is 750lbs. Taking roughly 10 seconds to plane.

Thanks again.
going too read up on installing a tach.
