I am working on my recent purchase. 1957 Johnson 7.5 hp.

I would like to re-paint the parts while I have it apart. Does anyone have a suggestion for getting this paint, or a paint that is close in color. I checked with my local dealer and it is not available through them.

I'm not a stickler for the exact paint, but I would like a color that is reasonably close. I have the correct primer for aluminum.

Thanks,

Check the links page over at www.aomci.org for the link to Peter McDowell's site. He's got paint & decals for most 1950s Johnrudes...

Re: Holiday Bronze paint

I will look at Advance. I bought a paint at Pep Boys that was very close according to cap color, but when actually sprayed it was too red.

Tashasdaddy: I did not find a two line pressure tank, but my dad had a un-used NOS single line tank in his attic that he gave me. I bought the fuel pump and I am going to convert, but save all the parts so I can restore it to two line if I can find a nice, inexpensive tank. My uncle up in NC thinks he has one, but he is physically unable to go look in his barn. I won't be up there again until Thanksgiving. In the meantime, my son is itching to try out the motor......
