Hi all,
I'm trying to get the accelerator pump set correctly on my carb, but something seems off.

With the carb closed, I set the pump lever to just be touching the adjustment screw base - I can get a piece of paper in there, so can't get any more loose.
However, at WOT, the spring is pushed in, which suggests it's too tight and putting too much pressure on the pump.

It's a standard cam, and I've taken apart the pump and diaphragm, and all looks Ok. The carb had a full rebuild a month or so ago.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

For future people - this was a jammed check valve. I’d rebuilt the carb, but not taken the pump shot shooter apart as it had been fine. It was dry and stuck, so penetrating oil and a wiggle with a small flathead as I blasted the hole in the carb body with air and it came out.

A quick clean and polish and it was sorted.
