I bout a starcraft 18' boat couple months ago and trying to get everything ready to start fishing I got the boat all ready but know time to finish the trailer. I know it is a 1974 holsclaw trailer that I have went ahead and replaced bearings and seals already and went ahead and bought two tires so far. But I went to have vin checked for license and couldn't locate a vin tag so had to send paper's in to try to apply for vin and title. So I am still waiting on that to make sure all that goes thru before do anything else to trailer. But I know it has two coil springs on each side but from what I have read shocks will keep from bouncing but it does not have any shocks. So I am looking to see what part number you guys have found that works. Other than that everything on the trailer seems really good. I will replace the rear light with sealed led lights for sure.

My first boat trailer was a 1968 Holsclaw. It had 2 coil springs and a shock on each side. If yours was intened to have them but were removed, there should be some holes in the frame and axle where they used to be mounted. If no holes, then they were not needed.

Holsclaw has been out of business for a long time. Doubtful you could find part numbers. If you have the unused holes, just go to a friendly auto parts store and by trial an error try to find something that fits.
