hello everyone and thank yall again fer this outstanding reference forum,

I have a neat lil 14'6" plywood skiff the boat is really in good shape cept it was left in the harbor in port aransas tx for bout a year. luckly it had bottom paint on it and after bout 4 or 5 hours of scraping got all the barnicals offa her. next paint right but i have sum dime size blisters on tha bottom i have opened thm up to dry. i would like sum input on repairin them i did repair the larger ones "palm sized" with poly and perdy heavy cloth. Those came out great i was hoping to use a farring compound to do the small ones would this be a good idea? and what kind should i use on poly.

one more tidbit i want to use a brightside paint on the bottom , as it will be trailered, do i need a specific primer?

thank you for yalls help i am kinda lost right now

Re: homade boat blisters

sry bout tha double post but i thought a lil more info might be helpfull

the boat sat outta the water for over 4 years so i think the blisters r dry, and i plan on using the boat in very shallow water chasin redfish and maby even gigin sum flounder. i am not as consearned with look as function. i have a 59 johnson 18 that will be powering the boat so drag on the boat is what i am really trying to reduce.

To fair the patches use a product designed for marine use, even some auto parts store will have it. Typical auto body filler won't last.

You don't need a primer if the surface is well prepped, but a sanding primer will help fill imperfections and make it look better.

Yes, it's just a water resistant Bondo.
