Home made pressure tester?

looking to pressure test an alpha 1 lower unit. any info on what i need/step by step to construct a tester? i'm thinking pump + gauge +/- valve (to close system when pressurized) + hose + fitting (what can i use for this?).

to the mods: any chance on getting a thread/sticky on diy special tools/lube/sealant substitutions? a lot of the info is available in threads, but is difficult to find...

you mean, right in the part where it says "pressure testing an outdrive"? i swear i looked first...
thanks. how about the fitting to the outdrive? any off-the-shelf hardware i can use?

The threads are 3/18 x 16 I just made one for myself and found the attachment I needed at West Marine. You can also buy a pre made one from ebay for around 32 bucks...

for the connection to the drive. i just used the end that came with my gear lub pump.... even comes with the first round of hose for making a tester....
