hi ime in the middle of making a set of risers for my 4.3 v6 chevy i got a couple of questions to ask i have coppied the cast manifold angles.
1 does it matter if i blank water ways off in exhaust manif old and take water from other side and loop it in to my riser as low as possible
2 the sise of the water pipe i need to use to do this.
3.where water enters original pipe i was going to block about 3 quarters off so pipe will hold water at idle and frair end of exaust to throw water upwards to help spray pattern ?
4 since ime doing this iv noticed that i could mount gear linkage on the transolm helping reduce angles witch is good in my bookall ide have to do is extend the esa wirring

Ayuh,.... How are ya gettin' double walled risers water tight,..??

1,... Ya, look into how Merc is buildin' their new "Dry-Joint" systems....

2,... 1" is pretty normal...

3,... Ya do yer blockin' off where the inner exhaust pipe dumps into the common area of the outer water jacket pipe....

4,... You can move that sorta stuff as far as the cabling will allow...

Re: home made stainless steel risers

1.its quite easy as i bought a pipe that fits in sidea pipe i have welded inside pipe 1st to plate then i slid the bigger one over it i tacked washers in varios places to center pipe at end i seam welded it up leaving a inch unwelded on top like the oem manifold riser 2 inches in front of that ive rolled pipe to make an edge witch will cause turbalance with the water i hope this clears this up.

2. ime gona emetal water ways in manifold wer it would go to riser to give a better mating serfice
