Just want to share.
I wanted to test the sensors, TPS voltages, but no Yamaha test harness. So I made my own.
I had some 4 wires computer power extension cables laying around. The one in the picture has four 4 wires plastic connectors that has 4 pin connectors inside. The one I use has just three of those white plastic connectors (that's enough). I cut out 2 of the white plastic connectors to get to the metal pin connectors. 4 of them, I crimped them a little to flat out the round female pin connectors to slide over the Yamaha blade connectors. The other 4, I crimped them flat to make them into the blade connectors. A couple of them flat out well that I can insert them into the Yamaha female blade connectors without problem. 2 of them did not flat out well. So I cut them out, and put the mini blade connectors on them.
To test, I'd carefully insert or slide those over the Yamaha blade connectors, run the engine, or turn on power, then insert my volt meters into the correct wire in the remaining white plastic connector to make the measurements.
Do it this way, you would have to be careful to make the correct connection. But it worked for me. Sorry, I did not take the picture when I got the wires connected to do the testing.
I tried to upload 4 pictures, but it keeps saying my other 2 pictures were corrupted. I'll see if I can follow up this post and attach 2 more pics
