homemade wakeboard tower, tow point

I want to build my own wakeboard tower, i have a glastron sierra 1990 i/o door, my question is where do the tow point should be? (in the middle of the boat, more to the front part of the boat or to the back)
The tow point interferes with the gravity center of the boat?
