Honda 115 and 130 recall

I just heard that there is a recall on these motors. I don't have the specifics on the year or exact reason for the recall. It is a corrosion problem of some sort. Just a heads up, especially for those who have a previously enjoyed Honda of that HP.

I received the "Product Update Notice". It doesn't say what year, only that it is for certain 115 and 130 motors. The problem is "the main relay is sealed with potting material to prevent corrosion. Over time the potting material may separate from the relay housing causing the electrical components to corrode." End result is that it won't start if that happens. Haven't taken mine in yet to have this done.

Ya know, when I submitted this thread, I didn't even own one of these models. Since then we have purchased a boat with a Honda 130, so now I'm in the mix. I've heard of folks with models from 1999 to 2004 getting the recall letter. I am buying a 2001 so I'm sure that it will be part of the recall.
