Honda 225 extension kit

Does anyone make an extension kit to make a 20" 225 honda into a 25". How much do they cost?

No kits that I know of for anybody in that HP range.Pretty much need to know what you need and run with it.

Honda will sell you the spacer, drive shaft and gear shift shaft necessary to accomplish this. Expect to spend some dollars. The drive shaft alone lists around $700.00.

Those parts are certainly available as indivdual units ,but a kit is not out there.Changeing that driveshaft will mean rechecking shimming and lash on all gears .Not a huge deal ,but why?

Here's my reason why: last fall a number of 225 engines became available at extremely low prices, like 9k, brand new. I bought one as a spare, with a 25 inch shaft and counter rotating lower unit, and will be converting it to a 30 shaft. Saved me a bundle. As more used motors hit the market, I'm sure folks are looking for ways to shorten/lengthen to fit a boat the own or plan to own. Incidentally, I am looking for the spacer for a 30 inch motor and have a 25 inch spacer looking for a home.

Leg convertions are costly ones. If plan swaping one 20 shaft motor where a 25 shaft one was previously used, why don't you cut the 25 inch transom to a 20 inch one if transom permits whether a DIY work or with someone who can perform such work.

Your local dealer is a phone call away and still in business unlike this thread from 2005 - 14 years ago.

Or you could start a new thread and tell what boat the motor will be used on. It'a a little early to start cutting her up without some particulars.
