honda 40 not peeing

I have a 07 Honda 40 I just got started,I put the muffs on it,but no pee.I took the pee hose off the engine,nothing.I ran the engine till I got nervous,still nothing.When I put it away last fall,it was fine,anybody have any ideas about what the problem might be?Larry

Your impeller could have dry rotted in storage and when you started it up, it could have been all chewed up and not making a good enough seal to produce water..Or, your tell tale hose that's connected to the block could be clogged..disconnect it and blow threw it.

I had the same problem with a 40 hp I worked on last month. I changed the impellerwhich wasn't the problem and then popped the cover off the thermostat. Bingo. It was all corroded with rust and salt water deposits. After replacing it and cleaning the housing out, it returned the water flow to a good strong stream with the muffs on and in the water on a test run. Hope this helps.
