Good Morning---I have been experiencing a starting problem with my 2004 Honda 9.9 electric start...just doesn't want to start. Runs fine after I do get it started which usually takes about 15 to 20 minutes. I have had it back to the dealer 4 times, can't find anything wrong, or "it starts fine for us". I did contact Honda, and their service guy said they had seen this before and to take it back to the dealer, and he would have his service tech call them. I delayed and now a different Honda person tells me the first guy was wrong....no problem/no fix..any suggestions

Have you checked fuel delivery prior to the first start? I too thought I had problems and it turned out to be an air leak in the primer.

Thanks for the return, but actually I have checked the fuel delivery, the ball pumps up hard and remains hard through the whole starting process. I really think it will boil down to the choke system on this electric start....Honda has instructed the dealer to put on a new carb. but I don't think that will help much....

Good Luck, I love the Honda's. Your reply makes me really appreciate the EFI on my new one.
