Hi,

New to this forum, just registered and I am looking for help for my 1996 Honda BF25A Four Stroke.

Issue #1: Out of the hold it will run great for 7 seconds once on plane, then is looses power like it gets bogged down.

Issue #2: When running in the 45 Degree shallow water mode, it runs as it should for about 10 seconds, then it seems like one of the cylinders quits and will quit running.

Any help would be appreciated. I am in Grand Rapids, MI

Thanks,

Eric

Welcome to iboats.

I'm assuming it was ok last year when you put her away.

Is the primer bulb collapsing? Do you have fresh fuel?

Yes, carbs were drained, all tanks ran stabil marine. Fresh plugs I have a cleansing dose of sea foam running through it right now.

Fresh (assuming it was fresh at the gas station) 93 Octane. Solid primer bulb that I am aware of.

However, I am using a tank that was for my 15 merc and only switched the fuel connectors at the engine, do you think I need to switch them at the tank? I assumed, but I think I could be assuming wrong in this case. I didn't think that would matter considering they both use the same diameter hose.

When it looses initial power on the top end it tries to recover, again and again and then it seems like it is at half throttle.

You can bring it from the top end to the bottom end as fast as you want on the throttle and it runs perfect.
