Re: Honda BF75 Carb's

I have a 2001 BF90. There is one bolt that is completely inaccessible. I have not figured out a way without removing the intake & 4 carbs in one unit.

I just did this to clean the carbs. As long as you write down where everything goes, label hoses, etc... it really not that bad. The carbs are really simple to diassemble and clean out. Gasket set is expensive though. About $110 for intake, carb float bowl gaskets and eight gaskets to mate carbs to the intake. There is a big gasket mating the carbs to the airbox, but I didnt replace that one. The engine runs fantastic after the cleaning.

Honda considers the silencer and carbs as an "assembly". That means you must remove the carbs, manifold and silencer box as a unit. It would be nice to ask a Honda engineer to help you.

Go to E-Bay and search for Honda Outboard Shop Manual. If you don't mind having it all on the computer the CD rom is the best value. That is what I bought for about $10. On E-Bay you will recornize it by the red and blue Honda Marine logo. For those looking for a paper edition be careful to read carefully. The cd-rom starts off saying it has 350 pages [which it does] but does not say it is a cd until further down the page. The Clymer books seem popular and start used at around $24. Be sure to check that it covers your year Honda.
